Accepted Licenses: licensed clinical social worker, certified social worker, clinical mental health counselor, marriage and family therapist
Competitive salary, 183 day contract, and includes a full benefit package.
School Mental Health Therapist
The School Mental Health Therapist provides specialized services to students and coordinates resources with school staff, community agencies, and other professionals. Services are designed to assist School Culture, Students, Families, and Educational Professionals, in providing quality positive behavioral prevention and interventions. These services allow students to reach their highest educational, developmental, and social potential.
Percentage of workload guidelines:
Tier I: Supports all Tier I school-wide cultural improvement, teacher training and instructional support, SEL development and implementation, 20%.
Tier II: Supports all Tier II school-wide interventions. Provides targeted small group services/therapy, small group activities, 40%.
Tier III: Supports all Tier III school-wide interventions. Provides targeted individual services/therapy 40%. Provide Wrap around services for students reentering the school system from inpatient treatment facilities.
*Daily schedules will be created and strictly adhered to.
Duties (not in order of priority)
- Develop expertise in school-wide positive behavior intervention systems of support and zones of regulation systems of support and ensure school-wide implementation and training
- Be a primary support to school-level principals and school counselors in successful School Climate Transformation Grant (SCTG) implementation
- Contribute and build school culture
- Actively participate in the student services team meetings lead by school counselor (mental health therapist is the lead at elementary schools)
- Provide support for instruction of social-emotional learning and wellness programs
- Work with and support school PBIS team in the implementation of school-wide positive behavior supports
- Promote regular school attendance
- Promote positive digital citizenship
- Support teachers in the identification of barriers to student educational achievement
- Support and participate in home visits
- Provide post-crisis intervention services as a member of the post-crisis intervention team
- Participate in the development of behavioral modification plans when appropriate
- Participate in the coordination of services with other disciplines within the school
- Lead positive collaboration between the school, family, and community
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records and documentation (data projects, program at a glance, Sevier School District mental health therapist standards, FERPA/HIPAA)
- Other duties as assigned

- Additional other community meetings
School Mental Health Therapist reports directly to the school level principal. They also receive guidance and supervision from CTE Center Administrator/Pathways Coordinator and the SCTG Coordinator. School Mental Health Therapists work side by side with School Counselors within the Utah School Counseling Model.
